Transmissions: 904 vs 727

Below are pictures showing the differences between the 904 and 727 transmission pans.  Also below is a diagram showing the dimensions of the 727 and 904 transmissions.  You will notice that although the two transmissions have different lengths, the distance between the front of the bellhousing and the centerline of the transmission mount is the same 22.66" for both transmissions.
