for your climate and where you are located, yes.  Try to find a Diesel one if you can.

granted they're a bit noisy, and the fuel costs about 20 cents more a gallon on average, but you get more MPG when towing, you get more towing capacity, more torque, and you can often go longer between needed maintenence.  I speak from daily experience.

Diesel's definitely better for a truck you expect to be doing serious work with.

Second all of that on the diesel.  The Cummins turbo diesels that they put in those trucks was second to none.  Run for hundreds of thousands of miles with little to no maintenance and pull down a house (or drive up one) if you want.  I've seen several early-90's trucks with better than 300,000 miles on them being used to tow things daily.
I just wish they had put them in Ramchargers.  That would have been a sweeeeet ride.

Now- that being said- if you MUST have a gas engine- the 360 is not tat much of a penalty over the 318, and has a lot more power.  Also, the 93's were the first full year with the Magnum engine- so- even better if you can find one of those.  And because they are now better than 15+ years old, they are at the bottom of the value scale.

Just my pennies,

1992 was the first year for Magnum engines, 3.9 and 318.  Only the 360 had to wait until 1993.

you'll be paying out the wazoo for a diesel 4x4 ram if you can even find one close by.

My buddy has a 00 V10 and it's got all the power he needs and he does lots of towing.
even a 5.2 does a good job when it comes to minor towing duty.
