well today has been fun
« on: September 02, 2010, 18:34:04 »

some time yesterday a van was stolen in my town at 8am they found it..... in my grandpa's pull barn :pound:

the guy was doing at least 70mph hit a rock and went air born over the garden and into the side the barn. every thing in the barn except the stuff on the far wall is a total loss and so is the barn. some how the guy walked away as we have not found him and he was not waring a seat belt as his head hit the windshiled twice.

but my great grandpa's antiqe dresser is fine, and all his old tool and tool box are fine. the rest holds no sentimental attachment well except the old TV that was destroyed we spent alot of christmas' around that thing open presants

Wasn't a blue/tan Eddie Bauer edition Aerostar, was it? Mine's still missing...(and I hope the idiot who stole it gets what's coming to him!)

Well that sucks. It looks like there's stuff in there that wasn't damaged and a bit of work would fix the building up again.

Yeah, I'd think you can buy one with gas in the tank cheaper than you could put gas in the tank of one you stole.

How did anyone not know this happened when it did?

Are you for sure "nobody can find him" or are you playing it cool and know more than you're letting on?  :anon: You can tell me.....I'm cool with it if you're doing what I think you're doing to the guy that crashed through your grandfathers POLE barn...

Cripes, the guy probably would have blasted right through had it not been of all the crap in the shed.
If your adjuster is telling your grandpa that that pole shed is a total loss, he's doing a crappy job.
Looks to me like a couple of 4x4 posts and some studs, mend the rafters and reskin it with tin.
Heck if your were hard up you could pound the old stuff flat again and rehang it either way if you spend more than a grand on it I'd be surprised.

it's wourse then it looks.

the firsts three roof trusses are blasted so the roof has to come off and get redone. the out side wall that was hit is gone. and the far back wall is actualy leaning into the barn. there was also a built in work bench that exploded

and yes the stuff stopped the van if it was empty he would of went probably completly through the barn and into the boat house and then the lafe
