85 Gran Fury
« on: February 26, 2012, 18:43:55 »

I am a semi-newbie with my M-Body. I have had her for about 3 years now so I have learned a lot over the years. She has a stock 318 2bbl with an a904 3 speed transmission I think. I bought it from an old Chrysler junkie who used this as his junker car that he drove around his yard (he owns a machine shop). He told me he bought it from a man in Georgia who was the original owner. He bought it with 65k on it and when I bought it, it had 98k. A car that's as clean as this, from Georgia where there is no harsh winters or salt like here in Michigan, that was never used as a fleet or pursuit car so never really abused, and with no problems but needing a new set of tires. Those kind of deals don't come around often. Oh yeah did I mention I only paid 500$ for it. Haven't done much to it really too. Things I've done to her since I bought it: rear brakes (everything from cylinders & springs to drums), rear shocks, tune up(plugs, wires, new filters, oil change), new radiator, new tires, replaced the severely pitted door handles, new exhaust (nothing fancy just regular quiet single exhaust because after all this is my daily driver), new headliner in side, new carpet in the back by the rear window, pioneer head unit, new Memphis front speakers (didn't have to replace the rear ones and they are stock!), added some fog lights behind the grill.

For the new upgrades this summer I already have some used police dog dish caps to put on after I give the steel rims a fresh set of gloss black, front shocks along with new sway bar bushings and prob tie rods just for the hell of it, junking the lean burn crap and going with a new electronic ignition set up(not sure what kind of carburetor to get though), new water pump, limo tint on all the back windows, and the most important part a new header panel courtesy of some old guy who backed up into me at the gas station while I was waiting for a pump  :pound:

Grille night shot. Didn't have the fog lights on because one of them recently just burnt out. With em on though it looks like an undercover police interceptor

Junk lean burn system  >:( . What were the engineers at Chrysler thinking putting a sensitive mother board filled with sensors and solder joints on top of a motor where all the heat and vibration is  :pound: . This is a horrible junk system that needs constant care and if one sensor goes out, your timing will be off causing the car to run like poop. Although it is amazing at how long this thing has lasted.
