Update June 2015: The car is back from paint and body (finally). Numerous small dings and dents fixed, ridiculous green police stripes that were PAINTED ON have been sanded away. New driver side door hinges. And a nice buff. Correct 1987 "W2" white is actually a bit off white and I had wanted a brighter white...but the W2 is what the car came with and I didn't want to make it incorrect.

Now on to putting it all back together (saved money by doing all that stuff myself) and working out the mechanical bugs. There's a slight exhaust leak and a driveline vibration I need to chase down. Stay tuned!

Go see Ice, He has plenty of them.
FYI, this looks like one of a series of pictures I took at High Performance Motors when I picked up my 88 GF back in 1998 (see photos Diplomat 11 https://www.dippy.org/photo/dip/diplomats11.html) similar to the middle photo (not saying it is not Ices photo, just looks like one I remember in the series shown in the 11's page).
Been away for awhile, was one of the old timers here, and am now getting old.  Still have my first, the 84 (https://www.dippy.org/photo/dip/diplomats05.html) but she is in need of restoration again.
I can still close my eyes and be standing/walking around the "back lot" when I took all those pics in 1998, sad to think how many are probably no longer with us :-

Hi Tom!

I'll always enjoy looking at those pictures you took. It really is remarkable how most of these cars just disappeared, considering how pervasive they were in their day. The 94-96 Caprice 9C1's are doing the same thing and I've even noticed it with the P71 Crown Vics. They're everywhere and then next thing you know, poof they're gone.

I'm lucky to have found and saved my car and I plan on holding onto it and passing it down to my son when I'm too old to enjoy it.

Incidentally, this thread coming back up made me really miss the old broad. Hope she's sleeping soundly in her storage building and can't wait to get back at the project in 4 or 5 months.

Thanks guys!
I miss the old board too and the time to be here more too  :pound:

Sad to even think of what happened to all the M's at Hi-Performance Motors :-(  I was wondering today driving back from a different site at work if the 88 GF I got there is still rollin
