IcyLightning - 1980 Dodge Diplomat
« on: April 25, 2013, 20:31:30 »

This is my 1980 Dodge Diplomat.  I just purchased it a few months ago for around $700.  It was a little dirty and was sitting for a while, but I figured that I could give it a new home and bring it back to life.     There are a few minor electrical problems with the interior lights, buzzer, etc, but nothing that will prevent me from driving it.  I love the color (I think it's called Nightwatch Blue) of the car and the vinyl top as well as the blue interior.  Let me know what you guys think

Here's a front view of the car:

Nice-looking Diplomat!  Wouldn't this be a 1980 or newer model?  I believe 1977 through 1979 had different trim, front and back.

You are correct Sir.
Just noticed it said 79.

Your car sure looks like an 80 up.

This is a 79 Diplomat.

Looks nice.
If that 3rd brakelight is factory it's 86 or newer. But then the hood ornament is different cause that's the old style one.

The car was manufactured in 79, so I was referring to it as a 79.  It is titled as a 1980.  Sorry for the confusion :P  I thought it said 2-79, but after looking at the picture I took, I can see 12-79.

I have a 78 Caravelle...which is almost identical to the 79
That's why I was asking...

Looks very nice...can't wait to see the interior shots too.
And once again..welcome to the madhouse.
You've come to the right place with that baby.

The 318, perched in his nest   A little rusty, but gets the job done.  Will be painting intake and valve covers original blue when I get the time and money.
