1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue-Blessed Nightwatcher
« on: September 24, 2015, 16:09:33 »

Hello, I figure I would post some pictures of the "Blessed Nightwatcher." The reason for the name is because when I got the car the original owner left a picture of Jesus on the dash. The previous owner left it alone and also there was a "cross" hanging from the mirror. The previous owner told me he left it in there for good luck. So, as a tradition and honor to the original owner I have left it in the car and with the car.

A little back story on this car. The original owner passed away I at believe 90 years old. The owner I purchased it from told me he had purchased it from the original owner's sister. It is a 1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue and fully loaded. It has tilt, trunk release, cruise, AM/FM Cassette, and leather to name a few options. It is "Nightwatch Blue" in color. The paint is the original and in pretty decent shape being 31 years old. The car has been a NJ all its life but, looks like it has been very well taken care of. I would not to be surprised if it had been off the road for a few years since when I got it had some older "wide" whitewall Continental tires on it.

Well, without further a due...

Very good shape for a NJ car.

You are blessed if you make it to 90 Years Old.

Find a beater for the winters and keep it this way.

I bet it was garaged to still have decent paint.

New exhaust system as well...

Looks like a little seepage from the rear end. You might check the fluid.

Nice find!!

<edit> If I had paid attention I would have seen the you had the exhaust replaced....lol  :pound:

This car won't be driven in the winter anyways. I have a 4x4 for that purpose. Thank you for all the comments. As for the rear seepage I will look at it closer. I think it could just be oil from the rear main seal. I also have some paint for underneath the car.
I'm still thinking about a C-Body New Yorker or Wagon. My wife doesn't like "grandpa" cars but, this was a nice ride for the money. For now I'm going to enjoy it.

The car had part of the exhaust system replaced when I got it but, the muffler had blown out and with the catalytic converter being plugged up I decided to replace the whole thing.

Hello and long time. I ended up selling the car to buy something else unfortunately. There are times when I miss those comfortable seats and the soft ride. I'm still in touch with the guy I sold it to. He converted over to a Edelbrock 4bbl. The A/C and heater controls have been switch over to manual ones. I hope he is taking care of it as well as I did. Which speaking of, I need to email him soon.
