Front End Alignment Shims

Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) TSB--P-4482 (Rev. A 2-5-86 Models 1983 to 1987 Gran Fury/Diplomat) refers to installing shims on the control arm supports to allow a proper alignment. The cause of the problem is the upper control arm towers bending inward. When this happens the upper control arm can not be adjusted for enough positive camber. These shims should allow for that additional adjustment. The problem was corrected at the factory beginning with the 1988 models. The current availability of the shim packages at dealers is presently unknown.  It might be worth calling around to dealers, as they can quickly check their stock for the part numbers below:

Parts Required:
  • PN 4014352-spacer, front suspension upper control arm pivot support-front
  • PN 4014353-spacer, front suspension upper control arm pivot support-rear
