Unknown year
Diplomat image brought to my attention by Mike Taylor.
Noteworthy about this car is that it is equipped with a
"continental" kit: the spare tire holder on the rear bumper.
Not offered by Dodge, there are a few "M" Body cars out there
equipped as such thanks to aftermarket options and items like this. |

A 1988 Diplomat found for sale online.
The ad did not specify that it was once a police car, but the dog dish
hubcaps seem to suggest that it was, or that a previous owner tried to
make it look like one. No evidence of spotlights, removed door
decals or push bar. |

Adam Taylor's most recent addition to his
"M" Body family, a 1987 Diplomat Police Package. Many more
details on this car can be found by following the link below.

Bud Carroll's third police Diplomat, which he
drove for 125,000 miles with a cracked block. While in his
possession he painted it, put on new tail lights and grille. The
interior was perfect. He sold it to a man who still drives it today.

This ad describes the Diplomat Wagon as
"Fiendishly Seductive". At least I always thought that
description applied to the soccer moms that I know. |

These pictures were sent in an accompanied by
this writing: "This is a 1985 Dodge Diplomat, owned by an
older Jewish lady who lives across from me. This car was her husband's until
he died, after which she used the car as a spare (her other car is a 1988
Diplomat). after much urging from her family, she bought a new car (1999 Toyota
Camry). she offered to sell me the '85 for under 1000. I am still
waiting on final figures. I am really looking forward to driving it after
so many good things I have heard from this site. she is keeping the '88. I
am only 15 yrs old, but I will spend the time till I can drive fixing it
up and driving it with my mom."

The source of this photo (an eBay auction)
mentioned that the Fire Chief's car in the lower left corner resembles a
Dodge Diplomat. I tend to agree. |
 |
The Diplomat made its way on to the 1978
Chrysler Service Manuals. If you look at the enlarged image, the
yellow car on the right side, on the lift, is clearly the rear quarter
panel of a pre-1980 Diplomat. |

A beautiful 1978 Dodge Diplomat photo found
by Adam Taylor. It reminded him (and me as well) of Farley -- in his
better days.
