I digitized the 1988 and 1986 FSM in PDF form. It has searchable/selectable text. The main difference that I noticed is the '88 has wire diagrams for power side mirrors. I also have the 1985 FSM that I'll be working on at a later time and will be available at the same google drive link below. There will be other FSM's from other cars in there as well.

Never did update this after it got back from the transmission shop, but holy cow it came back better than ever. Even with lifter tick, not being warmed up, and needing brakes bled, it ran so freaking well

...that being said, Pops got a knock on the door this morning and it now has a new owner. Kinda bummed after 13 years I never got it done, but at least it'll finally get there and be enjoyed again.

Given time, electric cars are going to end up faster and cheaper than gasoline cars. Not right away, but probably sooner than people think.

I went from a Challenger R/T to a plug in hybrid Jeep Wrangler. I can charge the Jeep for 15 cents a night (yes 15 cents), which gives me 20-25 miles of driving before it switches to the gas motor.
The electric motor really scoots for a Wrangler, not as fast as the Challenger but pretty close. It was odd, I really missed the rumble of the exhaust at first. The lack of engine noise also makes it seem you aren't going as fast. Even when the battery is "depleted" it still provides a small electric boost from a stop (I can generally get up to 10 mph away from a stop sign before gas kicks in) and when you lay into the accelerator (pretty much eliminating any lag from the 2.0 turbo gas motor) so even in gasoline mode the mileage is great for a heavy brick. I always loved Wranglers, but hated the mediocre V6 (it was great in other applications) and poor fuel economy.
I'd rate the hybrid Wrangler way better than the 3.6 gas motor. And the diesel was way to problematic for me to consider it. Now when I occasionally drive the old V8 Dakota, all I think is I wish the exhaust was quieter.

I still think people should have a choice and will for a long time in most places. If you want a gasoline car, but one. if you want an electric car, buy one.
