First they are not a LeBaron, so strike one for the ad. It is a TC, a separate model from LeBaron.
Second, it's Maserati that supplied the body and massaged the top of the line 2.2 Chrysler turbo engine with a 16v head.
The other options were more Chrysler - the 3.0 (actually Mitsubishi) V6 or the 2.2 Turbo 2.
Incredibly luxurious 2 seat interior and removable hardtop made it unique from he LeBaron.

The TC was delayed a few years and rather than debuting against the square K-car LeBaron convertible (which the TC would have looked sleek and sexy beside) it came out against the sleeker J body LeBaron.
