M-body overhang front and rear
« on: June 14, 2020, 21:20:14 »

Hey gang,
Been a while for me since I last posted and I have a question.  My Diplomat has been in storage for the past few years.  Since I placed her in storage, I moved and the house that i moved into, has a very short garage with a step pad along the back.  My AMC Eagle looks like a full sized car in this garage.  I want to bring my Diplomat home in the next week or two, however, I do not think I could be able to shut the garage door with the car going in frontwards.  I believe the car will go over the step, backwards.  In order to fit her in backwards, I need to re-configure a bunch of stuff, like my workbench, tool chest, etc...

Does anyone know the overhang of our cars front and back?  I looked all over the web and I cannot find this data.  Before I give up my storage spot, I want to make sure she will back in or front in without scraping the bottom of the fenders or air dam.

Garage - 224" front to back
Diplomat - 206" in length
Balance - 18"

Step - 36"
Step height - 7"

Thanks - T

I don't know what the overhang is but the back should clear the 7". Im not sure what the distance is on the front from the rad support/air dam to ground.

Hi Mike, it cleared, and it fits, with a little room to spare.  T
