Title: Door Service Tutorial
Post by: MyDodgeDip on June 28, 2008, 08:27:55
Hey All,  Had to take apart the door in the diplomat to make the window/door lock work again so I took some pictures.  This is good for anything door related: Window motors, lube tracks, lube regulators, Clean/Lube power lock actuators, Change door panels,  ETC ETC ETC

Start with a door (front and back are very similar).

Remove door lock pull (mine doesn't have them) and Door Handle (7/16 bolt thru handle)

Remove Armrest Screw:

Remove 2 small screws on lower part of door panel:

Use door panel puller or screwdriver to carefully pop clips out of door.

Lift the panel (one end first, then the other, the backs lift up front first, I seem to remember the front lifting up back first) Unplug any power connections:

Bare door with weather shield in place:

Lift plastic up and tuck it out of the way and there's your door:

A shot inside from the end:

There are 3 rivets that hold the regulator in place.  They can be ground off and the regulator removed through the large hole in the bottom of the door:

To re-install, get 3 small 1/4" bolts to put it back in with.  Heads go inside the door.

The window motor can also be taken off from the outside of the door with the door panel off.

"re installation is the reverse of removal"  :D just be careful to line the clips up perfectly or they bend or break the door panel.
