A few yrs ago I found rare 78/79 Volare grilles in Mexico for another site.

Been trying to find the M parts left overs from the Toluca plant, dealers, ect.
Got a guy in Taxco, Mexico who has the Mexican M Lebarons, Darts, Magnums 77-82 and parts
Containers of parts. and various cars.

This could be my like my last parts score that benefitted myself and others here, X1000.

Commutation is not good as he has bad English and I don't Spanish.
Have a buddy helping me with the language. but then there's a time delay.

I have a rager hoping for silver dash face plates and glove doors.
NOS door weather stripping 2 and 4dr?
Another big one is wheel well molding, fronts are nice, but where are the 2 dr back ones?
They also had console shifters and manual.
Linkage would be nice also.

This place isn't far from Mexico City and a little south of the Toluca plant.
To my understanding, bringing Mexican M's up here is a no-go, but it's an emissions rule AFAIK.
If I pull the motors in Mexico, I should be able to bring any nice M's up as it's now used auto parts.

So this my Mexican connection deals with M/F Chryslers and 50's Cheb Apache pick ups.
He is some sort of dealer/business, junker, hoarder, from what I got so far.

I'm hoping for various goodies, but even a container or more of various M parts could be gold.
Waiting on word about specific parts and more info.
First words about parts and M's was -Lot's.

hablo unos cuantos palabras de espanol.  lamentablemente mi espanol no es suficiente por ayudar.  Unfortunately my Spanish is not good enough to help.  Worked across the border in border towns but never got that far south.  Sounds like this could be a gold mine for you....I hope it works out.  And I really need 4 door weatherstripping.   )

Seriously, before you laugh, I did some pretty lengthy projects in Brazil doing just that (Portugese) before I learned enough to yak away somewhat legibly (even then, it was questionable, but hey, I chose to ignore the 'naysayers'...LOL).

They made 2dr M's called Magnum and Dart until 82.
I want NOS roof rail weather-stripping and 2dr MOS rear molding would be a seller.

Just do what the VW Beetle guys do. Drive a beat old VW into Mexico then swap the VINs with a newer Mexican model and return home.
