The Corona virus and You
« on: April 03, 2020, 07:52:14 »

How are you all doing with the corona virus?

Hadn't been on in a while as I've been busy at work (I'm considered an emergency responder for the city I work for). I've been creating ways for folks to be able to work from home during the outbreak, but I have to be at work so the equipment stays working, although there is much of it I could do from home.

So far, so good with me and the rest of the family.

Stay safe...

I got laid off once Broadway went dark, been spending time at home cleaning the garage and house, finishing projects that should have been done months ago.

Glad you and yours are well Patrick. Sorry you got laid off Luke!

So for so good for me and mine. I'm an essential worker so no work from home but no layoff either so you take the bad with the good.

Most weeks I am working reduced hours, though I will have to take 2 full weeks off without pay in April. I haven't been in my office since March 11 due to local restrictions.
There is a health care worker in my household, so I am being extra cautious.

I run the shipping department of a pad and partition company (think the dividers within boxes) and weve slowed a bit. Our big three areas of supply are automotive, alcohol, and pharmaceutical. With automotive shut down, weve slowed a bit. Fortunately, people are still drinking-our bottling customers have been ordering like mad. I've sent more trucks to California, Minnesota, and Oklahoma in the last month, than I had all year I think.

I work 39-41 hours. Nothing's really different for me whatsoever.

Hi Everyone,
Been very long time since been by, too long, life, but doing OK.
Work has had me working virtual since March 6th so fortunately payroll has been consistent.
Best to everyone and your family's!!

Hi all,

Advantage of working for government is I'm still employed as well, but have reduced hours as tax revenues dwindle due to the lock down.
Wife has been off for the past 5 weeks, but has been paid for her scheduled hours and not the hours she usually works, so it a little tight, but we are managing.

All of you keep safe!!

Just checking in. I caught it about a month ago at a random truck stop.

Wasn't fun, even though it was pretty mild compared to a bunch of other ones that some have got.

Wear your masks, this thing isn't anything to take lightly.

Our company was deemed an essential service so while things slowed down for a little while it went back to normal pretty quick. Sometime between april-may we shifted to working from home so I'm still doing that. I had to dig out an old webcam for meetings because our work computers don't have cameras or microphones.

I never got cars out of storage this year. There was no point when you couldn't go anywhere and the border being closed has put some projects to a halt too.

So I was just thinking, haven't been on Farley's for a while.  Wonder how everyone's doing?
I'm still in healthcare so considered essential, which means a steady paycheck but also many extra work hours dealing with the virus.  Fortunately about half of my work can be remote so less risk overall.
Stay safe everyone.

Hanging in there. Switched from hauling for a refrigerated-trailer company to another that hauls boats for Yamaha.
Selling the Corolla, and found an AHB in WV to buy that needs a drivetrain.

Hooray for being deemed “essential”.

Good to hear from you, dude!

Life grinds on here, I'm working in government now and have been spared the job insecurity that has affected so many other people. Generally lucky all things considered.
