So I found that ticking noise at start up..
« on: March 15, 2010, 02:59:58 »

Ever since I got my 5th. I thought a lifter was draining during the night and was just pumping up in the morning. So today, I was adjusting the choke on the carb and happened to look over at the driver side valve cover. "Hey, is the valve cover supposed to move in one spot like that? and why is the cover dented there? I guess when my friend replaced manifolds he hit the valve cover and dented it enought to cause the rocker to hit inside. Sure enough, a nice shiny spot next to the number 3 intake rocker arm. So I take the cover back to the shed and proceded to hit the inside with a ball pean hammer. And hit some more. Now I see some day light through it. Great. JB weld to the rescue! So that was my fun for a nice Sunday afternoon. Oh yeah. also saw a beautiful silver with black vynil top 5th today. Looked like an '84 or '85 with out the side lamps. Looked great in that color combo.
