On Friday, gonna have the oil changed (water got in the engine during the hurricane) I'll see if they can do the welding and what they'd charge, thanks everyone for the ideas

The factory put reinforcement plates on the 4 inner holes.
My Coupe has them and its split bench.

Wish I'd known that, could've pulled them off the Diplomat, or gotten then from that Gran Fury that was in the u pull it yard (was a spilt bench seat car also)  :doh:

Probably easier to make a reinforcement than to remove what the factory ones as they are probably welded in.

True, Unless you have a battery operated cutting wheel,
Those welds would be tough to chisel off, but not impossible.

Lowes has metal strips in different thicknesses, that you could cut to length.

I always noticed the seats seemed to tilt a little towards the center, I was never sure why
