fuel neck & window motor parts
« on: December 04, 2017, 20:48:16 »

I'm new to the dippy world and picked up a solid 86 model.  There's just a rubber hose on the tank with a cap jammed in it. Where can I get a proper top and neck for it? Also, the drivers window motor is funky. Are there parts available?

Time to hit a junkyard. Don't drive the car like that.

I have an Aspen fuel filler tube. I wonder if they are the same. Anyone know? I'll sell it cheap.

I also have a properly extended one for shifting the tank over for dual exhausts which I will also sell. Do you have plans for dual exhausts?

Thanks, guys. I found the window motor, gears, parts, etc. Thanks. Yes, I plan on adding duals of some sort eventually.

Do you still need a stock fuel neck?

Well, sounds like Ice might have one. I have one already setup for the tank shift, with newer rubber grommet. It's ready for install. I will sell it at reasonable price. I also believe I have a stock one. Where are you located, and if you're really interested let Ice or I know soon.

Oh, and what's this tank shift dual exhaust stuff? This thing will get duals down the road eventually.

Tank shift: Many of us have done it. You remove bolts on one end of tank straps, and shift tank over to passenger side by one groove in tank. This requires lengthening of fuel neck. We use fuel rated hose and good clamps. Then, you can run dual exhausts in a nice way, and not have to squeeze pipes outside of leaf springs, or behind or in front of tires. This gives you a stock appearance, if duals were have to been offered on M's. You can have a custom made system, or the Jegs A-body system works really well with just slight modification on the driver's side. It's a mandrel bent 2.5 inch kit, with or without mufflers. I have the without mufflers kit because I wanted quieter OEM mufflers than what they offered.

^ It's the only picture I could find right now, but this gives you an idea of how nice the kit is, and how you can run it over the axles closer together than with the tank in the stock position, shifted to left instead of center. I just have mine to bumper with what looks like a Chrysler turn down. Again, as if they had duals on M's.

If you wanna grab Ice's fuel neck, cool, or if you wanna buy mine if you're going to do the shift, it'll save you some cutting and modifying, and looking for a new grommet.
