I didn't even know Kirk Douglas was still alive.

John Young was big news around here, living near the Space Center.

Thought Kirk was going to be on the 2017 list.
I heard he's still doing OK and still walks around.

John Young needs to be mentioned.
Only a few get to go on a first class space flight, and more than once.

Jerry Van Dyke was funny on coach.
One episode where Jerry had grape juice and kept spilling it on a white wedding dress and white rug.
Then tried to clean it up before the coaches fiance found out and made it worst.

Legend. I always liked his broadcasts. He didn't talk too much or too little and his excitement was sincere, you could just tell.

WWOS was my auto racing fix in a 10 channel universe and that new fangled TV's with color.
Keith and Chris Economaki.
Hardest working men in the business and gave it 'the all'

Think what they had to work with just in technology terms.
NASCAR/ Indy and NHRA where still real back then.

And still better than the CRAPCAR ass-casters they have today.

I stopped watching any crapcar a few years back. The cars are so extremely disconnected from the production version, I have no interest. Back in the "old days", when they still shared parts and highly resembled production cars, and there were manufacturer wars, I found it interesting and fun to watch. A Toyota Camry race car??? Give me a break. And I agree, today's broadcasters are annoying a.f.

I'm still a sucker for Daytona and Talladega.
The rest sucks even more.

Indy 500 seems to be a yawn fest until the last 5 laps compared to the AJ Foyt and super Mario days.
NHRA sucks these days too.

A Toyota Camry race car???
If I could get a 2 dr Crapry with a push rod V8, I'd be a little less P/Oed.
But just a freighter full of money, a CRAPCAR standard issue car and a wrap, now you are racers.

If I was nutbar Arab oil rich, I'd show up with the freighter of money, a Yugo or Lada type badge and have some lawyers in tow.
Yugo wins the Daytona 500.
