Gauge cluster issue
« on: November 16, 2020, 09:33:56 »

So, when I turn the lights on, the left turn signal on my gauge cluster illuminates.

I’m still in the process of getting all the outside bulbs replaced, but since I’m home sporadically progress is slow.
I think it’s probably a wiring issue behind the cluster, but I figure too much info is better than not enough

Currently these bulbs are non-functional:

LF Signal (both bulbs, corner one works)
RR brake & signal (all, but the running lights work)

Next time I get to look at it is likely at Thanksgiving next week.

Two likely problems:
Something is allowing stray light into the turn signal area.
Or you've got a grounding problem and it's not necessarily in the instrument area.

When I installed the turn signal indicators on the fenders, sometimes the right side would stay lit at night, and when that would happen so would the right signal on the gauge cluster, never did figure that out, though it was thought to be a ground problem. For some reason it stopped doing that at some point

Yeah, I still gotta wait a few more days til I can mess with it. If it’s a ground issue hopefully I’ll be able to find it fast. I do have the feeling it’s related to the LF bulbs being out though. I’ll let y’all know how it turns out.

COMFIRMED: it was the turn signal bulbs. All of my lights work now, and the errant gauge turn signal light is no longer lit when the signal is off.
